On my 26th year

I had every intention of writing this post a few days ago but I got sidetracked with life and the happenings in my world. So 5 days late here is my birthday retrospective, its not always happy or pretty but it was my life at 26...

  • I kicked off 26 in Disney World with the ex boyfriend. We spent three days together celebrating my birthday knowing full well that when we got back we would be breaking up. A very bittersweet time for me. Every night as he would go to his hotel room to sleep, I would lay in bed and cry myself to sleep.
  • I got to spend a great day with my best friend after he left cheering me up like we used to do growing up whenever one of us had broken up with a boyfriend, except this time we had the added bonus of her son Sammy. It was a great day.
  • I learned that even when you think you have no tears left to cry they somehow manage to keep flowing.
  • I sent a package to the ex with his birthday presents, the e-mail that I received from him, set me back to square one. As if he had done it all over again.
  • I started my blog, to come to terms with the changes in my life.
  • I leaned on my sister to get over my breakup like I never had before.
  • I joined 20something bloggers
  • Started exercising regularly, and surprisingly loved it.
  • I made new friends and started to spend more and more time with them as the weeks went by. They helped numb me.
  • I woke up one day and realized that I was better off without him. And the tears finally stopped.
  • I decided it was time to give dating a chance again...and quickly realized that I was not really into dating anyone.
  • I stumbled on a profile on 20sb that would change everything
  • I finally fulfilled one of my long time desires and dressed up as Princess Leia for Halloween. That was a great night.
  • I kicked off several months of discovering shows that I missed the first time around...it became a new hobby. Sad.
  • Saw Coldplay from the front row and New Kids on the Block. I have never had more fun than I did at the NKOTB concert.
  • Helped Teresa and Gabriel move into The Castle, quite possibly the coolest house in the universe.
  • I posted 79 blogs in November, I was a rabid blogging beast
  • I got to know someone new, who lives 800 miles away and realized that I could be attracted to someone else and even better could feel good about it. Spent hours gchatting and "text dating" getting to know each other and making the other laugh.
  • Cut bangs for the first time in 5 years
  • Spent a great Thanksgiving with the family and then with friends to kick off the holidays.
  • Was left to my own devices while my best friends partied in DC for my sisters 28th birthday. Seethed with jealousy.
  • I went to a spiritualist for the first time and was told that I'm hard headed and make my own decisions, oh and am being followed by a little black boy. NICE!
  • My lovely readers coined "Sexy Legless Pirate" for my new crush
  • Pizzafest for Lisette's birthday
  • Celebrated Christmas by drowning everyone I love with gifts. Including the Pirate who got a care package in the mail.
  • Got ridiculously drunk at our Christmas gift exchange with friends and made sick inside my sisters car. With red wine. Classy.
  • Partied into 2009 with great friends and a fucking awesome dress.
  • Lost the best assistant in all the land. I think I even shed a few tears.
  • Drank 3 bottles of champagne to celebrate bears birthday dressed to the nines and barefoot, cause we're ladies.
  • Lost count of the e-mails, chats and phone calls that occurred between me and SLP, it was officially we were smitten and hopeless.
  • I listed my Ugly Sexy list and got quite the bloggy community response from it, who knew.
  • I started to come to terms with a long standing friendship in my life and realized that maybe it was better if it didn't continue.
  • I spent an amazing 4 days in New York with Nick and Marisol. Drank like fish, danced like crazy asses and met some GREAT people.
  • SLP built me a snowman on the one day it snowed in Montgomery, if thats not love I don't know what is.
  • Made a new creepy friend
  • I had a very revealing talk with my sister and realized that maybe we weren't as close as I'd always thought. I eventually came to terms with it.
  • Milked thirsty patrons at Calle 8
  • SLP came to visit me for the first time. The butterflies were in full affect but it was a great couple of days.
  • Spent an amazing night douching it up for Gabe's birthday.
  • Lost another amazing employee, this time because of the shit economy.
  • Celebrated Zoey's birthday like little kids partying it up in a bounce house
  • Wonked out my knee exercising on the WiiFit.
  • Danced the night away and frozen cosmo'd it up for David's birthday at Score
  • Decided to throw a crazy birthday party for my 27th...planning began and slowly tapered off as the date grew nearer.
  • Rang in Easter Sunday with old friends in a night of drunken debauchery
  • I realized beyond a shadow of a doubt that SLP and I were beyond hopeless and totally mush for each other. Setting sail for another long distance relationship with another Alabama boy.
  • I nearly collapsed from exhaustion, too many events in one season. May 19th couldn't get here soon enough.
  • I decided to go back to school and got accepted everywhere I applied. Except one, I am still waiting to hear back from.
  • I told my parents that I was dating someone knew...interesting conversation.
  • I splurged and got the most amazing hair treatment ever. I want to marry it.
  • Spent 4 blissful days in Alabama with SLP. Loved every single minute of it and dreaded the flight back home.
  • Had quite the shock upon my return from Alabama. Shit happens.
  • Spent a rather sickly couple of weeks. Leaving my sister to manage the party planning.
  • Spent a really great Father's day with the fam.
  • I let life go by me as I vegitated in bed watching tv and reading.
  • Decided to move in November and started apartment/house hunting with my sister.
  • Kicked off my birthday festivities by spending 6 days with SLP. In bed, in pj's, vegitating and snuggling.
  • Came home to a great party, great friends, and a fresh start for another year.
