Fly, Vegitate, Fly, Party

That was the basic rundown of my vacation over the last week. I flew out to see SLP on Thursday at the ungodly hour of 5am. I was kissing his face no later than 8:00am that morning, what a way to start the day. We drove the two hours to his house, I promptly changed into pj's and with only one or two exceptions that is exactly how I stayed ALL week. We watched movies, I read 3 books, had an amazing snausagefest (translation= snuggling). And in one of my boyfriends cutest moments to date, he coined a new phrase...Parasite Mode. What is this parasite mode you say? Well, its when he throws himself on me and wraps his legs and arms around me for a serious cuddle and I can't shake him. Not that I'd want to, but now he announces his impending attack. Enough of the cuddly grossness, I know you all get bored of it. Anywhoodle, before I knew it, it was Wednesday afternoon and time to head back home to spend my birthday with the fam. Leaving him sucked as per usual and it looks like I won't be seeing him for several months, sadtown. I'm sure we'll figure it out, we always do.

Me (sans makeup, just like he likes me) and SLP. He looks half asleep in the photos.

And now for the party...I had a pretty hectic couple of days prior to the party on Saturday and to say I was pooped would be an understatement. That night while getting ready I practically collapsed trying to get into my corset. No joke it took me 45 minutes to strap myself in. It was hard work. About half the people invited showed up and most of them dressed up so that was a definite plus because I must say the photos look amazing, everyone really put a lot of work into their costumes and I couldn't be happier. We partied like rockstars until 3 am, drank, danced, sang, ate. The only thing missing was SLP, but despite that I had a great time with some amazing friends. I figure the best way to explain the party would be in pics...there are a ton, don't say I didn't warn you (the rest are on Flickr, but seriously there are almost 400 of them so be warned)

In all my birthday glory

Vicki as the half man/half woman...she really nailed it

Mary and Eugene, looking too schmancy pants for words

My lovely sister the carnie

It bites

My best friend Angie, and her hubby Juan, I couldn't believe he actually wore a dress.

Eugene and Carlos, he was a gay carnie

Gabe, truly captured the essence of the carnie

Zoey, taming the shit out of Carlos

And things got a little crazy

Cyn, diving into her glass of water

Oh Mario, how I love you and your insane faces

Bff loving

Bear bear was the cutest mime ever, except she didn't quite grasp the no talking clause

Teresa looked awesome in her costume, and it was a last minute throw together

My sister has a weird idea of what makes a carnival

Natalie had had it with her tutu at this point but she really was an adorable clown

I have no idea what was going on, but Teresa was really into those pearls

umm, yeah and here too

Please look at Marisols face in the corner.

Charles finished off that bottle...

and this occured

My favorite pic of me from the whole night...the epitome of class

The one good pic I took with my sister

My work babies

At one point I walked into the bedroom and this was going on...
I have no idea what to say about it but it was a good end to the night.

Yeah, that looks like my kind of party. Loving the effort put into the costumes.

Your friends are the best. I love hearing about all your creative parties and lament that everyone up in Illinois are stick-in-the-muds!

P.S. Glad you had fun with your honey. Hang in there!

Wow, what a party! I loved our fancy-dress parties, back in the day; we really ought to do them again...

And require that girls wear corsets.

Ben - If only we had one planned while you were in town.

Sassy B - I have the solution to that...move to Miami. Stat!

Katie - Yes indeed I can. Name the date :-)

Sebastian - That should be a requirement of any party.
